How can I figure out the right size for a ring?

Welcome!

In this article, I will tell you how to correctly determine your ring size. I hope this information will be helpful for you!

THE MOST ACCURATE WAY

The best way to find out your size is at a salon or jewelry workshop. Professionals will help you determine the right size using ring sizers – a type of jewelry size gauge. If you are in Kyiv, you can visit my workshop for this purpose.

WHAT IF I CAN'T GO TO THE SALON?

If you've ever bought a ring in a store, you can check the size on it – usually, it's indicated in very small font, so you may need a magnifying glass. If the size is not indicated, I will show you how to determine the size yourself.

instruction

Take the ring and a ruler, ensuring the ring is not deformed – it should be round inside. Place the ring in the middle of the ruler and see how many millimeters are inside. You can also send me a photo at lisova.jeweller@gmail.com, and I will determine the size from the photo, but it needs to be of good quality.

This way, you'll find out the inner diameter of the ring, which is the size. For example, size 17 is 17 millimeters, size 16 is 16 millimeters, and so on.

Important: measurements should be made exactly along the middle line of the ring, as shown in the photo. Otherwise, you may lose 1-2 millimeters, making it a completely different size.

WAYS TO AVOID

On the internet, you'll find methods like using a strip of paper or thread to determine size – I do not recommend these methods. Using them can easily lead to incorrect sizing, and they often provide a significant error. Sometimes you may get the size right, but it's more like luck, so I recommend avoiding these methods.

General recommendations for determining size:

1. Do not measure the size immediately after coming from the cold or heat. In cold weather, fingers become smaller, and in heat, they become larger. So, before measuring, give your fingers time to adapt to room temperature.

2. During size determination using rings or ring sizers, make sure the ring comfortably passes through the knuckle – not too tight and also not too loose.

3. The ring should securely sit on the finger – not too tight but not too loose. The ideal size is when the ring comfortably passes through the knuckle on both sides and confidently sits on the finger without squeezing it.

When determining size, consider the width of the desired ring – try to measure rings of the same or at least similar width to choose the most comfortable size.

That's it! I wish you to choose the ring of your dreams that will bring you joy every day!
